The Circular Economy Consultants are our backbone to advance circular economy practices throughout Africa.
They are engaged in tasks revolving around our main services, including circular economy policy consulting (e.g. CE roadmaps and action plans), knowledge transfer and awareness raising.
In addition to this main field of work, the Circular Economy Consultants support the other members of Africa Circular, for example, by networking with relevant actors, developing communication materials and following up on finalised projects.
our PROGRAMME MANAGER
Our Circular Economy Program Manager, Piotr, bears the main responsibility for our operations’ success and holds a central role in Africa Circular. He works closely alongside the Board, to formulate the communities strategy, with a focus on promoting the integration of circular economy practices across all African countries.
Piotr develops strategic partnerships with stakeholders further and maintains an overview of our projects. He is also directly involved in our projects as key expert and to provide follow up on these projects.
our Development MANAGER
Caroline Wothaya is a highly skilled business development manager and financial support specialist, known for her singular focus on excellence and innovation. In her role at the Africa Circular Community, Caroline is instrumental in driving sustainable business practices across the continent. She manages business development initiatives, provides crucial financial support, and spearheads projects that promote circular economy principles. Her strategic thinking and dedication have significantly contributed to the organization’s success, making her an invaluable asset to the community.

our REGIONAL COORDINATORS
The Regional Coordinators are the presence of African Circular across different regions of Africa and contribute to different areas of our work.
During the implementation of projects, they support the substantive work and coordinate inputs from team members, local experts and our wider network.
With the ambition to contribute to the young field of circular economy and to raise awareness on this topic, the Regional Coordinators organise capacity-building events.
As developing our network is key to achieving several of our objectives, such as expanding on bottom-up projects, the Regional Coordinators interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including potential clients, collaborators and funders.
Our Board of directors
Koen Rademaekers and Chris Whyte lead the Board of Africa Circular with Koen based in Belgium and Chris in South Africa. From the origins of the organisation, Koen founded Trinomics and Chris was Executive Director of ACEN until December 2024.
Africa Circular was established to promote the circular economy across African economies by building networks and capacity for local governments and experts and implementing projects with some guidance from Trinomics experts, but a focus on local capacity through in-country ACEN members and our own local Focal Points.
The Board oversees strategic decisions and guides the organization in achieving its goals. They frequently meet with government representatives across Africa to expand Africa Circular’s network and project base. They also support project implementation with their extensive expertise in circular economy sectors.
